WHAT WE DO
The Battle Born Growth Venture Capital Program – Battle Born Venture – invests in high-growth, high-potential Nevada startups by making equity and equity-like investments alongside institutional venture capital funds, family offices, or strategic corporate investors and venture arms.
WHO IT'S FOR
Nevada-based startups can apply to Battle Born Venture once they have secured a lead investor for their current Series Seed, Series A or Series B round.
We prefer highly innovative technology-based startups that will power the growth of Nevada’s new industries rather than standard SAS, although the latter is not excluded.
Battle Born Venture also considers deep technology-based companies that are at pre-seed stage that either:
- Are spinouts from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), or Desert Research Institute (DRI); or
- Have secured active Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants and/or contracts; or
- That are affiliated with our research universities, or project’s support by GOED’s Knowledge Fund at UNR, UNLV, or DRI such as being a client of the SAGE Program (https://www.unr.edu/sage ; https://www.unlv.edu/econdev/sagesouth)
How it Works
We invest alongside institutional lead investors in high-growth Nevada based startups.
We also entered into strategic co-investment partnerships with local institutional investors, such as StartUpNV and Desert Forge Ventures, whose investments we will match up to one-for-one.
